Project Overview

In early 2025, our team completed the installation of a full electric heating system in a private house of 120 m² in southern England. The client wanted an efficient, low-maintenance, and aesthetically pleasing solution to replace an outdated gas boiler system. After assessing the building’s insulation, layout, and heat loss rates, we selected high-efficiency ceramic electric heaters as the main heat source.

Project Timeline

  • Initial Consultation & Heat Load Calculation – 3 days

  • System Design & Quotation Approval – 4 days

  • Delivery of Equipment – 1 week

  • Installation & Testing – 2 days

Total time from project start to final installation: 2½ weeks.

Challenges We Faced

  1. Electrical Capacity Upgrade
The existing electrical system was rated for older, lower-demand appliances. We coordinated with the local electricity provider to install a higher-capacity consumer unit, ensuring safe and reliable operation of the heaters.

  2. Room-by-Room Heat Optimization
The house had areas with different insulation levels—particularly a conservatory with large windows. This required precise heater placement and zoning control to maintain uniform comfort without excessive energy use.

  3. Logistics & Delivery Delays
Some heater models had limited stock in the UK, so careful scheduling was needed to avoid installation delays.

Equipment Installed

  • 10 premium ceramic electric heaters (each with built-in thermostat & Wi-Fi control)

  • Smart home integration module for remote temperature control via smartphone

  • Upgraded consumer unit for increased electrical load capacity

  • Full wiring & safety certification

Costs

  • Equipment: £11,200

  • Electrical works & installation: £2,800

  • Total Project Cost: £14,000 (all inclusive)

Operating Costs

Based on metered consumption during the first two months of use and the regional electricity tariff of £0.28 per kWh, the system uses approximately 1,200 kWh per month in winter.

Average Monthly Electricity Cost: ~£336
(Note: Costs may vary depending on outside temperature, insulation, and usage patterns.)

Results

  • Even heat distribution across all rooms, including the glass-heavy conservatory.

  • Significantly reduced maintenance compared to the old gas system.

  • Complete remote control via smartphone, enabling the client to adjust heating schedules on the go.

Client Feedback

"We were impressed with how quickly everything came together. The heaters look great, heat up fast, and we no longer have to worry about boiler servicing or fuel deliveries. It’s just set-and-forget comfort."
